Touring Show Cast Announcement

We’re delighted to announce our cast for the return of the Touring Show – coming to venues in South Cambridgeshire in early 2023!
The production team would like to thank all those who auditioned and made it such a difficult task to choose the line-up.
Stay tuned for ticket and venue information as we get this show back on the road!

Main Show 2023 – “Urinetown: The Musical”

Festival Players bring the amazing and unique Tony Award winning “Urinetown: The Musical” to the ADC Theatre in June 2023!

A dystopian near-future sees all public utilities, including toilet access, controlled for profit by a private Mega-Corp. The impoverished masses are barely able to afford regular trips to the bathroom, and if they dare to urinate in public law enforcement will drag them away to the mysterious Urinetown, which is a “bad place filled with symbolism and things like that.”

Full of dark comedy, meta-references, 4th-wall breaking, and a host of original songs parodying all genres of musical theatre. “Urinetown” is arch, knowing, serious, romantic and very funny.

We are now looking for a creative team to take on production of this incredible show. With auditions envisioned for late January 2023 and rehearsals starting in March. If you would like to be considered for Director, Musical Director or Choreographer please email: secretary@festivalplayers.org in the first instance to register your interest.

Touring Show 2023 – Call for Creatives

Calling all creatives. The much loved Festival Players Touring Show is back in 2023! If you’d like to throw your hat into the ring for Director , MD or Choreo please contact secretary@festivalplayers.org by Saturday 7th May. You don’t need to have any sort of worked up concept at this stage, but maybe just general idea of how you see the production setting up.

We are *especially* keen to hear from first-time creatives. The Touring Show is an ideal way to dip your toes into the work of directing MD’ing or choreographing a show for the first time and we encourage anyone who has ever thought ‘hmmm, maybe I could….’ to put yourself forward. The committee will provide you with plenty of support and guidance to bring your vision to fruition.
